Investigation continues into lawmaker’s interns being pulled from office

An investigation continues for a state lawmaker after two interns were pulled away from his office.

Senator Paul Levota confirmed the University of Central Missouri is reviewing their case.

Levota said he was never told about an incident.

Two students worked for the Democrat from Kansas City area, but they left in March.

This comes after last week’s resignation from John Diehl, the speaker of the Missouri House.

Diehl admitted to sending inappropriate messages to a 19-year-old from Missouri Southern State University.
