Columbia police respond to reports of shots fired in North Columbia

Columbia police have now cleared a crime scene in North Columbia.

Officers responded to the scene near Sylvan Lane and Whitegate Drive shortly after 10:30 Thursday night.

Police told ABC 17 News multiple people called and reported hearing shots fired in the area.

They said they have recovered two shell casings.

Officers said they do not have any reports of damage or injuries.

They also do not have a suspect description.

Columbia police told ABC 17 News they will hand the case over to investigators.

They cleared the crime scene shortly after 11 p.m.
