Higbee man accused of molesting a child

A Mid-Missouri man is behind bars accused of molesting a child.

Tuesday, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department arrested Clinton Woods, Sr., of Higbee shortly before noon.

According to court documents, Woods molested a 7-year-old girl between June and August of 2014 at his home in Higbee.

Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols said the child was taken to Women’s and Children’s Hospital last November for injuries from the abuse. In an interview, the child told investigators Woods put his hands down her pants multiple times.

Woods is facing six counts of felonies including child molestation, statutory sodomy and child endangerment for two separate incidents.

He was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl in 1990, but was released from jail two years later. Woods is a registered sex offender, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s website.

He is being held on a $150,000 bond in the Randolph County Jail and is set to appear in court June 1.
