Cooling temperatures, rain returns mid-week

Temperatures to start the work week will be warmer ahead of a cold front that will move through Monday afternoon into the evening.

There is a chance for a spot shower mainly along and south of I-44 early Monday, but skies will be mostly sunny through the day with a northwest wind as the front pushes through.

Overnight, temperatures drop drastically into the upper 40s and lower 50s with clear skies and light north winds.

We’ll feel the effects of the cold front on Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures only topping off in the upper 60s on Tuesday and the upper 50s and lower 60s Wednesday.

Our next rain chances comes early Wednesday morning with an upper level wave that brings rain in from west to east. This will persist through most of Wednesday, with Mid-Missouri seeing between 0.25″ and 0.5.” No severe weather is expected on Wednesday.

Temperatures gradually climb back up into the 70s by the end of the week, with more thunderstorm chances expected for the weekend.
