Columbia Police conduct SWAT training on northeast side

There may be a heavy police presence in northeast Columbia Monday night.

Officials told ABC 17 News it’s just a training exercise.

Columbia Police confirmed the SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team will be near a vacant home off Brown Station Road, near Gerbes on Paris Road.

Property owners gave their permission for the training, and the scene will be clear by 11:00 p.m. Monday.
