Man accused in Harrisburg murder appears in court
The man accused in a Harrisburg murder appeared in Howard County court Wednesday.
Zach Jefferson is charged in the 2011 killing of Jon Spurling in rural Harrisburg.
Jefferson was married to Spurling’s ex-wife, and investigators said he was jealous of Spurling.
The Missouri Attorney General’s office is assisting in the case, and it’s not clear yet if prosecutors will seek the death penalty.
