Jefferson City Mayor: Missed deadlines were unintentional

Newly elected Jefferson City Mayor Carrie Tergin told ABC 17 News Wednesday she has failed to file what is called a “30 Day After-Election Report.”

Although she would technically be within 30 days of taking office, the report is actually due before successful candidates take office.

Tergin said, “I believed I was filing my reports on time, and I learned today that the, 30 Day Report is due sooner for a successful candidate.”

While Tergin believes she is not the only candidate to not file this report, she explained, “I have chosen to file reports electronically with the Missouri Ethics Commission rather than by paper so everything can be open and accessible the public online.”

Tergin said, “any missed deadlines were unintentional.”
