Training exercise executed at Callaway Energy Center
Officials with FEMA, Callaway, Gasconade, Osage, and Montgomery counties participated in a training exercise dealing with the Callaway Energy Center Monday.
The exercise was planned to test the abilities of the state, the nuclear plant, and those counties to protect the health and safety of the people living and working near the facility.
The training helps determine if the facility has adequate emergency preparedness and response plans.
A public meeting is planned for Thursday to explain the emergency response to the community.
The meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the state emergency management auditorium at 2302 Militia Drive in Jefferson City.
