JCPD investigating shots fired incident

Jefferson City Police are still investigating after shots were fired Monday night shortly before 11:00 p.m.

JCPD responded to the 1100 block of West McCarty after getting several calls from people in the area saying they heard 4-5 gunshots.

A witness told police he or she saw people running from the area after the shots were fired.

Officers found 4 shell casings on the road, and found 4 people who ran from the area.

Two 14-year-olds and an 17 and 18-year-old told police they talked to someone in a car who fired shots at them when they were done talking and drove off.

No one was injured, and police urge anyone with information to call Jefferson City Crime Stoppers at 573-659-TIPS,
