FBI agent found guilty of assaulting 13-year-old boy

A judge found an FBI agent guilty of assault on a minor after putting a 13-year-old boy in a chokehold last year.

Scott Armstrong was arrested in Callaway County for forcing the boy to pass out.

The bench trial lasted for about 4 hours Monday.

The boy had visible marks on his neck after Armstrong put his arm around the child’s neck.

Several people took the stand, including the victim, and all of the testimonies matched.

Armstrong also took the stand, and never denied choking the boy.

Sheriff Dennis Crane also testified, saying any law enforcement who is training should know to use a chokehold as a last resort for anything, and only if its necessary.

It’s still unclear what Armstrong’s punishment will be, but he could face up to a year in jail for the misdemeanor charge.
