Jefferson City High School evacuated briefly Monday

Students are back in class Monday afternoon after evacuating the building temporarily.

The school was evacuated for about an hour for what officials thought was an electrical fire.

It was determined shortly after that it was an air handler in a maintenance closet that was smoking.

There were no injuries, but one student had an asthma-related issue.

The Nichols Center was not evacuated.
