Marshall police officer recovering after crash
A Marshall police officer is recovering after a Friday afternoon crash near Marshall.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 65 and Highway 240 just after 2:00 p.m.
The officer was driving north on Highway 65 and was hit by a Malta Bend man who was driving south on 65 attempting to turn east onto Highway 240, and didn’t see Officer Fred Hayes.
Hayes was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment, and is said to be doing well as of Friday night.
The Highway Patrol will conduct an investigation into the crash.
