Boone Co. commissioners sign on with CPS for radio tower
Boone County commissioners Thursday signed on to an agreement with Columbia Public Schools for a new radio tower by Battle High School in east Columbia.
In a special report, ABC 17 News discovered without that tower, emergency responders have no way of communicating with Joint Communication inside Battle High School.
Boone County commissioners said the next step is to pick a contractor and get the materials.
They said the county is hoping to get the tower done as soon as possible because of the elementary school opening this school year.
More than 1,000 new students will be in the area.
