Two women arrested for pot, children taken from home

Two women were arrested Sunday night after officers found pot in an Osage Beach apartment.

Police were patrolling in the 1000 block of Mace Road when they spotted a pit bull in the neighborhood that had sparked previous complaints from residents in the area.

Police went to the dog owner’s home where they smelled a strong odor of marijuana.

When officers searched the apartment, they found 58 grams of pot, some of which was packaged for sale, scales, drug paraphernalia, .40 caliber handgun, and ammunition.

Three children were in the home at the time and were placed in the care of a friend of the two women arrested.

A 23-year-old woman on probation for theft and drug possession and a 26-year-old woman were arrested and are currently on the Camden Co. Jail pending formal charges.
