Police investigate death on I-70 in Columbia
Police in Columbia are investigating the death of Kaycee A. Blackburn, 24 of Columbia, Mo., who was hit and killed by a semi-truck on I-70 early Thursday.
Reports of a body on the road near the Providence Road bridge over the interstate were called out shortly before 3:30 a.m.
Personal items of Blackburn’s were located on the outer edge of the overpass on Providence road.
The driver of the semi – truck who hit her reported the incident to police after the crash and the circumstances are still under investigation.
The investigation had a section of I-70 closed for about three hours – traffic in both directions is now open.
