Traffic backs up for crash on I-70 near Columbia
Traffic was down to one lane Tuesday after a crash on I-70 west of Columbia.
Cars were backed all the way past the mall, stretching to at least West Boulevard. The wreck was first reported around 2:40 Tuesday afternoon near Sorrel’s overpass at the 122 mile maker. The slowdown might have caused another crash 10 minutes later about a mile away.
Emergency personnel with the Columbia Fire Department, the Boone County Fire Protection District and several ambulances responded to the scene. Crews with ABC 17 News spotted a tow truck haul away a motorcycle.
