Severe Weather Update- Wednesday night

The threat of severe storms has decreased for Wednesday night with the tornado threat dropping to 2% for most of Mid-Missouri. Spotty showers & t-storms are expected to develop after midnight with a slight risk of large hail and isolated strong wind gusts. Heavy rain is also possible in a few of the storms.

Storms which move through the area Thursday morning will have mainly a large hail and heavy rain threat. These will decrease through mid-morning. By early afternoon, as a cold front approaches, additional showers & t-storms are expected to develop just to the west of HWY 63 and strengthen as they move east through late afternoon. There is a slight risk of damaging wind and large hail with these storms.

Heavy rain is expected with storms through Thursday with up to 3 inches possible which could lead to flash flooding. A Flash Flood Watch continues through Thursday afternoon.
