Two camels, two steers stolen in Boone Co.

The Boone Co. Sheriff’s Department is investigating after two camels and two Black Angus steers were stolen outside Columbia.

The animals were taken from the 1100 block of Botner Road between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday.

The two camels are 3 and a half year old intact tan males, about 9 feet tall with double humps.

Boone Co. Sheriff’s Detective Tom O’Sullivan told ABC 17 News it’s unclear if the camels are microchipped or tattooed.

The two Black Angus steers weigh between 900 and 950 pounds each, and had yellow tags on their right ears. One was tagged 96 and the other 97.

Detective O’Sullivan asks for anyone with information about the missing animals call Crime Stoppers at 573-875-TIPS.
