Boone Co. Sheriff weighs in on police shooting in Ferguson
A Mid-Missouri sheriff is now weighing in on the recent shootings of two officers in Ferguson.
ABC 17 News on Tuesday sat down with Boone County Sheriff Dwayne Carey, who said he thinks state leaders need to show they will not tolerate violence against police.
“I get frustrated as a law enforcement guy, kind of as a mother hen to my folks. Where is that silent majority? At what point is that silent majority going to come out and say enough is enough, we’re tired of this. Law enforcement is doing what we’re asking them to do, but it that vocal minority that’s dictating everything,” said Carey.
Sheriff Carey also said societal problems are often left for law enforcement to deal with.
He said this makes it hard for officers to fix the issue in a way that pleases everyone.
