Man arrested for threatening people with baseball bat

A Columbia man was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly threatening people with a baseball bat.

40-year-old Brian Benter apparently threatened residents of a duplex in the 4300 block of Santa Barbara.

When deputies arrived and pulled Benter over, they found the bat inside his vehicle.

There were no injuries reported.

Benter was arrested for 3rd degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
