One of the big questions remaining after Schweich’s death is, what happens next?

Missouri statutes ABC 17 News reviewed Thursday state in the instance of a vacancy, the governor fills those unless otherwise provided by law.
ABC 17 contacted the governor’s office Thursday, and it would not confirm if that is going to be the case.
Scott Holste said their focus is on the family and prayers at this time.
Schweich just started his second term in January that runs until 2019.
His replacement would have to fill that four year vacancy.
