General Manager
The General Manager works closely with Department Managers, News Directors and other key personnel, to ensure that station goals and objectives are effectively accomplished.
Duties include management of the physical, human and financial assets of the station, in relation to achieving budgeted financial goals and growing the station’s revenue share. The General Manager is responsible for recruiting and hiring department managers, working with the News Director in recognizing and hiring key talent, as well as conducting annual performance reviews with all direct report employees. Additionally, the General Manger oversees strict adherence to FCC rules and regulations, monitoring related processes to ensure protection of station licensing.
Experience as a General Manager is required.Additionally, the desiredcandidate is expected to be astrategic thinker, disciplined executor, practiced in developing and making recommendations,exhibiting professional interpersonal, communicative and presentation skills. To be successful in this role, candidatesmust be detail-oriented,with the ability to remain inherentlyfocusedon the systematic completion of multiple projects.Advanced computer skills, extensive knowledge of MS Excel and Power Point, knowledge of and basic competence in, a PC based traffic system are required, with a college degree preferred. Possession ofa valid driver’s license, currently insured dependable transportation,and the ability to travel frequently are additionally required.
