Man on probation for marijuana now charged with murder

A man on probation in Mid-Missouri is now charged with murder.

Melvin McCaslin was sentenced in 2014 in Cooper County for possession of marijuana.

His probation was revoked in December and he was sent to Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center.

Now investigators think McCaslin shot another man in the head during a fight in Kansas City in October.

Court documents said the man was unresponsive on the ground when the deadly shot was fired.
