Cold blast Sunday

An arctic high pressure system will move into the northern great plains Sunday, then move southeastward into Missouri Monday. Bitterly cold temperatures will move into Missouri for Sunday and Monday with this high pressure.

Temperatures Saturday night will fall into the low teens, with wind chills just below zero by morning. Then for Sunday afternoon, temperatures will only warm into the upper teens. A strong northerly wind gusting up to 25 mph Sunday will keep wind chills in the single digits.

Mostly cloudy skies will persist Sunday morning, but clouds will decrease more Sunday evening. Sunday night will be the coldest night of the week with low temperatures diving into the lower single digits. Wind chills Sunday night will reach 10 below zero by Monday morning.

Skies will be partly cloudy Monday with temperatures similar to Sunday. Highs to start the work week will reach near 20. Winds will be a little lighter Monday, but will still keep wind chill values near 10 Monday afternoon.
