Columbia Police crack down on drunk drivers

Columbia Police will be cracking down on drivers who get behind the wheel while drunk.

DWI enforcement will be increased this Thursday through Saturday.

During that time, there will be at least one sobriety checkpoint within the city and extra patrols.

The checkpoints are being paid for through a grant from MoDOT.

In 2013, nearly 30% of deaths on Missouri roads were caused by drunk driving.
