Cole County crews working to clear secondary roads
ABC 17 News was in contact with Cole County Public Works all Monday morning, which had its entire staff out on the roads. Most of them were working on overtime due to the President’s Day holiday.
They have been working to keep up with the snowfall that finally came to an end around noon in Jefferson City. Crews salted the roads, but they’re still hazardous.
Cole Co. Public Works Director Larry Benz said there are a few things drivers can do to stay safe.
“They need to slow down. That slush can actually pull your car one way or the other if it happens to be a little deeper on one side of the other. So people need to slow down and take their time,” said Benz.
Benz also said to give yourself plenty of time to get where you need to be, and anticipate delays throughout the day.
