Three-car accident sends one woman to the hospital

Saturday, one woman is in the hospital after a three-car accident in south Columbia.

Police said it happened shortly before 1:00 Saturday afternoon. Three cars wrecked near the intersection of Grindstone Parkway and Rock Quarry Road.

Police shut down one lane, backing up west-bound traffic on Grindstone for about an hour.

Two cars received significant damage from the crash. And police said one woman was transported to University Hospital with minor injuries.
