High speed chase leads to one arrest; drunk driving suspected
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Saturday morning after a high-speed car chase.
According to a news release from the office, John K. Daly, 55, sped off after a deputy tried pulling him over for speeding and “a stop sign violation” on County Road 269, near the county’s border with Boone County.
The two cars drove near 90 miles per hour on a road with a 35 mile per hour speed limit. The vehicle eventually “spun out”, Corporal Curtis Hall told ABC 17 News, and came to stop.
The sheriff’s office arrested him for seven offenses, including two felonies – driving while revoked and driving while intoxicated.
According to online court records, Daly has a pending DWI trial in Boone County on January 21.
Cpl. Hall with the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office said Daly’s bond is set at $45,000.
