Cole Co. health department warns of spreading flu virus

The Cole County Health Department is warning people to take preventative measures as the flu virus begins to spread this winter season.

If you have not already had this year’s flu shot, the Health Department recommends the vaccine, as well as washing hands with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing.

They also recommend staying home from work or school if you do become sick to avoid spreading the illness to others.

Children should stay home from school until they no longer run a fever for 24 hours.
