Columbia restaurant robbed at gunpoint
Saturday morning, police responded to an armed robbery at Denny’s Restaurant on 1100 Knipp Street in Columbia around 5:30.
Police say a man wearing dark clothing who is about 5’5″ and 145 pounds entered the restaurant with a gun and fired one shot into the ceiling. The suspect demanded money from the employees and the customers.
Police say the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot. There was a total of two employees and three customers in the restaurant at the time.
No one was injured and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
