Temperatures warm mid-week, precipitation chances return Wednesday night

Monday night will be cold as high pressure brings sinking air over us, with winds calming.

Overnight lows drop into the upper teens and lower 20s with mostly clear skies.

Temperatures warm to just below average Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs reaching the lower 40s as high pressure drops south.

Our next rain chance comes overnight Wednesday into early Thursday with our next cold front.

Weather models are slowly coming into agreement about light precipitation moving in before dawn Thursday. Right now, the best time for Mid-Missouri to see a freezing rain/sleet mix looks to be between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Thursday, with precipitation changing to rain later in the day. However, timing could shift slightly if temperatures waver at all.

The weekend will be warmer, with high temperatures just above average in the upper 40s and low 50s, with a slight rain chance Sunday afternoon into Monday.
