Convicted Jefferson City killer sentenced to life in prison

A convicted Jefferson City killer learned Wednesday he’ll spend the rest of his life in prison.

Calvin Hutson was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years for the 2012 killing of Andre Hudson. Hutson was convicted in May.

Authorities said the killing stemmed from a drug deal.

A second suspect in the case, Justin Beasley, pleaded guilty in September to second degree murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Hutson’s lawyers plan to appeal.
