Local school bus driver finds knife, airsoft pellet gun
A Morgan County R-II school bus was searched last Friday after a student told the bus driver he thought he saw a handgun in a duffle bag being brought onto the bus.
The driver pulled over and notified school officials so the possible weapon could be investigated.
The driver saw what looked like a gun on the ground outside the bus, and had all students stay on the bus until police and school officials arrived.
An airsoft gun and a knife were discovered outside the bus.
Both students connected to the incident were minors, and no direct threats were made to any of the students on the bus. The students also didn’t show the weapons on the bus.
