Man allegedly assaults deputy who tried to pull him over speeding
A man is in jail after allegedly assaulting a Callaway County Sheriff’s deputy who tried to pull him over for speeding.
The deputy tried stopping the driver, 29-year-old Clayton Craddock of Fulton, on Old Highway 54, but the driver led the deputy on a pursuit, driving at speeds higher than 90 miles per hour.
Craddock then got out of the car and led the deputy on a foot chase.
When the deputy caught up to him to arrest him, Craddock allegedly tried to gouge the deputy’s eyes with his fingers.
A Missouri Sate Highway Patrol Trooper and other deputies arrived on the scene and took Craddock into custody.
Craddock allegedly had synthetic marijuana in his possession and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
The deputy he allegedly assaulted suffered minor injuries.
