New apartment complex and business offices coming to Columbia
Another new apartment complex will be coming to Columbia.
However, this time it won’t be for students.
This newest development off of I-63 and Discovery Parkway will be the largest for Trittenbach Development.
Construction will not begin on the apartment and business offices until the end of this year.
The work happening now is to get the 200 acres of land ready to be built on as well as adding roads.
“It is really an ideal location right off of highway 63. It’s within minutes to some of the major employers in town, and it’s really easy access for professionals who want to live in Columbia but work in Jefferson City,” said Jack Cardetti, spokesman for Trittenbach Development.
Next to the apartment building will be the new city park.
Cardetti told ABC 17 News that is just an added bonus to the land and another thing residents will be able to enjoy, in addition to the Discovery Park Center.
“That is going to have four office buildings for professionals out there. We started to sign some leases but I can not disclose those right now,” said Cardetti.
The apartment and business offices are just the beginning.
“What we are going to look for are some really friendly neighborhood retailers. We are talking about restaurants and coffee shops that smaller scale retail, and even maybe a hotel there,” said Cardetti.
Right now there is not a set completion date for the projects.
The Odle family who owns the Brookeside apartments around Columbia will own the new apartments on Discovery Ridge.
