Two charged after deputies find drugs in home with children present

Two people from Westphalia were arrested Thursday morning for having dangerous drugs with children in their home.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Department and the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group searched a home at 2996 Highway 63 South and found meth, suspected marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Two children who were at home during the search were placed in protective custody.

36-year-old Lucas Holterman and 29-year-old Savannah Kubesh were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Bond was set at $10,000 for both Holterman and Kubesh. Kubesh also was wanted in Pulaski County for driving with a suspended license.

Holterman posted bond the same day while law enforcement continued their investigation. Deputies searched another property belonging to Holterman and Kubesh near Freeburg between Osage Co. Rd. 632 and Hwy. 63 South. There, they found a marijuana grow operation and a stolen ATV as well as a stolen motorcycle.

Kubesh was then charged with manufacturing a controlled substance with a $15,000 bond. Holterman turned himself in Friday, and was released pending charges. Kubesh posted bond and was released.
