Fourth suspect located in Boone Co. burglary
Boone County Sheriff’s Detective Tom O’Sullivan says State Troopers and deputies have located a fourth suspect following an early Monday burglary west of Columbia.
Detective O’Sullivan told ABC 17 they received calls about a suspicious man “covered in mud” near Highway 63 in the Hartsburg area Monday.
34-year-old Brett Russell was arrested and stolen property was recovered from his home. Russell has already bonded out of jail.
Three other people were arrested Monday after a deputy caught them burglarizing in the 3000 block of Hancock Hills Road.
A K-9 Unit assisted deputies in the arrest of 42-year-old Rusty Modglin, 35-year-old Amanda Baker, and 23-year-old Samuel Evans for burglary, stealing, resisting arrest, and other charges.
The home has been burglarized at least once before, and a deputy in the area checked on the home early Monday morning to find the suspects running from the home.
Evans was arrested on scene in a vehicle, and both Modglin and Baker were taken into custody after the K-9 Unit found them nearby.
