Boone County Fair wraps up final night
The Boone County Fair wrapped up its final night Saturday.
Officials said they estimate the fair drew an estimated 10,000 people Saturday alone and an estimated 50,000 people since the fair opened Tuesday.
Fairgrounds crews said the rain and hot temperatures Saturday caused the crowd to thin out at some points in the afternoon, but once the showers moved through, the crowds were back to normal.
Overall, coordinators say the event was successful.
“We’ve been blessed, because we had a cool week,” said Jeff Cook, president of the Boone County fairgrounds. “I’d say we had 8,000 to 10,000 people a night. We broke records every night this week.”
