Paris Road, Business Loop traffic restricted for construction
Parts of two major roads in Columbia will close down early Friday for a bridge replacement project.
Crews are building a new bridge on Paris Road over Business Loop 70. As a result, that section of Paris Road/Route B will be closed until September 15, when the work is slated to be finished.
Business Loop under the bridge will also close Friday, but should be back open by Monday, July 14. In all, the project will cost around $880,000.
MoDOT has given the following detour information for drivers while the project is underway:
– East bound Business Loop traffic will take a right on College Avenue, left on to Paris, then a right on Amonette, and finally a left on Old 63 up to the Business Loop. Westbound traffic coming off I-70 will take the same route in reverse. Again, this will only be the case until Monday morning, if work stays on schedule.
– Northbound traffic on Paris will go right on Ammonette, left on old 63, then right on Business loop, and another left on to Hathman Place. Southbound traffic on Paris will take the same route in reverse.
