Wardsville school damaged by straight line winds

A Wardsville school sustained significant damage during Monday night’s powerful severe thunderstorms. The storms formed into a bowing line that brought damaging straight line winds to Mid-Missouri.

Official wind reports from around the area ranged from 60 to 70 miles per hour, with the highest in Cole County coming in at 65MPH in Jefferson City.

Blair Oaks High School received roof and water damage from the whipping winds, flooding hallways and damaging the gym floor.

Here’s a photo gallery from the high school taken by Superintendent Jim Jones.
