Salute to America kicks off in Jefferson City
The Salute to America celebration in Jefferson City continues through Saturday with live entertainment and and all day events Friday concluding with a fireworks show.

On Friday, live entertainment begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Madison Street Stage.
The pre-fireworks celebration begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Capitol Main Stage with the Bennie and the Jets band.
Fireworks will begin at dusk, after 9:00 p.m.
ABC 17 will air the fireworks on FOX 22 KQFX, with the 10:00 newscast to follow on KMIZ.
In the unlikely event rain delays the fireworks, ABC 17 will air the remainder of the fireworks until their conclusion in the 10:00 news on KMIZ.

The following streets will be closed:
High Street: from Adams Street to Broadway
Capitol Avenue: from Main Street to Adams Street
Monroe from Wall Way to Capitol Ave
Madison Street: from Wall Way to State Street
Broadway: from Main Street to High Street
Parking will be available at the State East parking garage off State at Monroe, West State parking garage off of Main, and all state and city lots. Parking will also be available for a $10 donation until 6:00 p.m. and $20 after at the Selinger Center parking lot off of West Main.
The handicapped lot is off of Adams through Commercial Alley to the lot behind the courthouse.
Jefferson City Police remind drivers that they’re only allowed to park on one side of the road on Mokane Road and Hibernia Road in North Jefferson City on Friday night.
