Road projects resume in Mid-Missouri

Road work resumed Tuesday following the Memorial Day holiday weekend, and many projects are slated to continue through Friday of next week and beyond.

MoDOT will continue general maintenance work on roads such as mowing, brush cutting, and paint striping through this period.

In Boone County, MoDOT will continue work on Hwy. 63 in Ashland causing occasional lane closures. That project includes bridge deck repairs on the Route M and Route Y overpass, creation of a J-turn on Hwy. 63 south of Peterson Lane, adding roundabouts on Routes M & Y at the overpass, and resurfacing parts of the highway between Rte. WW and Hwy. 54 in Callaway Co. That project is set to be completed by November.

Another big project starting in Columbia involves road resurfacing on Providence Road between Business Loop 70 and Stadium Blvd. This work will be done overnight, with one lane open at night. This project is slated to be done by October.

More road resurfacing on Hwy. 763 between the business loop and Big Bear Blvd will continue through June and happen overnight.

Also in Columbia, crews will widen Stadium Blvd. at I-70 through winter 2014. Crews will place asphalt on Stadium this week. MoDOT reminds drivers to be alert for lane closures in work areas.

For the remainder of this week and next, crews will replace the bridge deck on the northbound exit ramp of Hwy. 63 over Hominy Creek at Broadway in Columbia.

In Jefferson City, crews will complete maintenance in the east and westbound lanes through next Thursday, June 5. One lane in each direction will be open for the duration of the project.
