Columbia man arrested for child pornography

30-year-old Andrew Weable was arrested for child pornography following an investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Cyber Crimes Task Force.

Investigators started tracking down Weable when they found a home computer network in Mid-Missouri offering to distribute child pornography in mid-April.

An investigator downloaded several movies from the suspected computer involving the sexual molestation of children, and at least one of them appeared to be a toddler.

On Monday morning, the Cyber Crimes Task Force identified Weable’s address andserved a search warrant at 1480 N. Dawn Drive. Apt. A in Columbia.

Three computers were taken, and investigators found child pornography on one of the computers while conducting the search.

Weable was arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography and promoting child pornography.

He is being held in the Boone County Jail pending formal charges.
