One hospitalized after car jumps guard rail in Osage Beach

A Springfield man is in the hospital after an SUV jumped a guard rail on the Grand Glaize Bridge and rolled into the water. On Monday investigators said the victim is Adam Marquart, 23, who remains in critical condition.

Officers on the scene found Marquart laying unresponsive along the bank of Lake of the Ozarks. Police said the SUV was mostly submerged in the water. Officers said they did not find anyone else in the car.

Marquart was put into a fire boat and transported to an ambulance. He was then taken to Lake Regional Hospital and flown immediately to the University of Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene to try to determine what happened before and after the SUV struck the guardrail. They have not yet finished their investigation.

Police say more information is expected to be released.
