Campus police identify suspect after student fondled on quad

University of Missouri police issued an alert Saturday night after a female student reported being inappropriately touched by an older man on the quad. On Monday authorities identified the suspect as Khaled Fathy Mahmoud Salem Farag.

According to the Clery release, the girl and a friend were walking between The Residence on the Quad and Pickard Hall around 5:45 p.m.

A 60-something Middle Eastern man approached them and asked to take a picture with him. The suspect said he did not like the first picture and asked for a second.

During the second photo, the man grabbed the female student’s buttocks. When she moved his hand to her waist, he allegedly then reached up and fondled her breast.

The female student told police she pushed the man away and left.

The suspect was described as a Middle Eastern man with dark brown skin, black hair with a little white in it, little to no facial hair, and a thick accent. The student said he was wearing a white button down polo with light brown/tan plaid and khaki pants. The man also had a digital camera with him.

Anyone with information in the case was asked to call University of Missouri police at (573) 882-7201.
