After a shooting on Saturday, are Fulton parks safe?

Fulton Police are still investigating a shooting that took place on Saturday night around 8:00 p.m.

They said they believe the incident was isolated and should not pose anymore threat of violence.

Charles Williams said he has lived across the street from Carver Park for over five years.

Williams takes his grandchildren to Carver Park to play and he said, “I still feel comfortable taking them there.”

He said, “When you have people outside the city that really doesn’t know anyone… They bring their issues with them.”

Williams said people who live in the area are law-abiding citizens and there are never problems, especially violent ones.

Fulton Police Chief, Steve Meyers said, “You have a different clientele, we do, at night than at daytime. Sometimes they do tend to be violent.”

Children will soon be starting recreational baseball and kickball, but people should remain safe at the park.

The parks in Fulton close at midnight, but children’s curfew’s are at 10:00 p.m.
