Mid-Mo man convicted of child porn violates parole

A Mid-Missouri man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly violating his parole on child pornography charges.

Frank Petering was convicted of having and sharing online child porn in October 2004. He was sentenced to 12 years and released in September 2011. Petering later moved to 13251 North Route E in Harrisburg just north of Columbia in January 2013.

As a condition of his parole, Boone County authorities installed tracking software on his home computer in March of 2014. Within three days, the monitoring company recorded activity on sites involving child pornography.

Investigators think Petering went to similar websites before March and joined at least one internet group using one of his registered emails.

Members of the Boone Co. Cyber Crimes Task Force served a search warrant in his home on Tuesday, seizing two computers.
