Boonville couple allegedly caught with 50 lbs. of pot

One Boonville resident allegedly found with more than 50 pounds of marijuana and cocaine bonded out of jail Monday. Derrick Coady, 29, and his girlfriend Jessica Corley, 26, were arrested late Saturday night at their home on South Street.

Police say they were trying to extinguish a box of marijuana after it caught on fire. Officers could smell the smoke several blocks away. According to court documents, Corley said she was making hash oil.

Authorities also said they found several large freezer bags full of marijuana and a grow operation in the basement.

Corley posted bond but Coady remains in the Cooper County jail.
