Two arrested for Boone County burglary and assault

Two men were arrested Sunday after an alleged burglary and assault in Boone County the night before.

Kelsey Skouby, 25, of Auxasse, and Jessie Smith, 22, of Columbia, were in jail Sunday night accused of burglary and assault.

Witnesses in the 1800 block of Prathersville Road said the two men came to a home there, demanding to speak to a man they said they knew inside.

According to a news release, Skouby and Smith then pushed their way into the home and started to attack a man. Another man in the house yelled to cal 911 as the two men started to leave.

At that time, a woman in the home was pushed into a wall and threatened with assault. A man who had come to the aid of the first male victim was also attacked.

Sheriff’s deputies said the first victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Skouby and Smith were being held Sunday night on two counts of assault and one count of burglary each. No bond had been set for the burglary charges.
