Moberly man arrested for 1997 shooting

More than 16 years after a shooting in Moberly, a man has been arrested for the crime.

Ollie James III was arrested Tuesday for a crime that happened in 1997.

James allegedly shot and robbed a 48-year-old man at Richard’s Steakhouse in Moberly. Police could not make a case against him until new information recently surfaced.

James is charged with first-degree assault and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The victim of the shooting has since recovered from his injuries.
